I have a problem with my Belkin wireless G router , it keeps cutting out and I lose my connection. I use the pc the router is wired up to and my son uses his laptop, but it doesnt matter who is on the router just cuts out every ten minutes or so, and we lose connection. I have the 10m upgrade and have a SB5100 modem.
Anyways, my WiFi has been cutting out lately, more and more frequently. Called Comcast (my ISP) since I thought it was something on their end and the tech I talked to had me reset the modem and router but unplugging each for an extended amount of time. Plugged them back in and I was good to go. Why does my router keep disconnecting me from the Internet? Microfilters, phone line splitters and the ethernet cables can all develop faults over time. You can check to see if these devices are the cause of your router disconnecting from the Internet by: Testing your Internet when your router is the only device connected to the phone line via the microfilter.
